Welcome to ourmarinebank.com, the electronic version of Marine Bank, a community based bank headquartered in Marathon, Florida, which is roughly in the middle of the island chain known as the Florida Keys. Our company was founded in 1995 by Bill Daniels in response to local demand for a more personalized banking experience. Bill retired from the Bank Board in 2007. I joined the Bank in 2002 as President and CEO, but benefited greatly from the five years we had to work together.

In 2005, our Board elected to merge with Home Bancshares, a multi-bank holding company based in Conway, Arkansas. Our connection to Home Bancshares was through our largest shareholder, John Allison, who splits his time between Conway and Key Colony Beach in the Florida Keys. This merger has proven to be a strong strategic move for the Bank as our company has grown significantly and is regarded as one of the strongest banking organizations in the country. Home Bancshares is listed on NASDAQ and is publicly traded under the symbol HOMB.

We currently operate in twelve locations including three new offices in Southwest Florida; Charlotte Harbor and Punta Gorda in Charlotte County and Marco Island in Collier County, and two new locations in Monroe County; Key Largo and Key West Old Town.  Each office is fully staffed and is led by a bank manager responsible for making independent decisions that best serve the communities we represent and in which we operate. We offer a full line of banking products and services, including a variety of deposit accounts, lending products, Trust and investment management services. Dedicated specialists in commercial and residential mortgage origination are located in each region to better serve our customers.

Our Bank Board is represented by 8 accomplished individuals from a variety of backgrounds, including commercial fishing, law, insurance, accounting, art and real estate investment. We even have a couple of bankers on the Board. Each Board member brings a unique perspective to how we manage the Bank. This mix gives us a strong understanding of the markets and professions that make up the communities in which we operate.  

Over the past six years Marine Bank has enjoyed a great deal of success, as we have nearly quadrupled our asset size and our profitability.   I am proud to say this was largely due to the skill and dedication of our 100+ employees. Over the past 2 years, the addition of five new offices and a new operations center (which includes 5, second floor affordable housing units) has been challenging as we nearly tripled our working square footage, but feel this expansion prepares us for the future and diversifies our footprint.
